Mixing TPS with GPS
Always use a valid coordinate system, either ground or state plane, if you plan on using your TPS together with your GPS. Set your GeoPPM calculation to Automatic and your measured distances will be properly scaled for the active coordinate system.
Coordinate systems are used to allow the conversion from and to WGS 84 and a local grid coordinate system. A <None> coordinate system should only be used if the data will not be mixed with GPS.

RX1250 not communicating with Instrument
The instrument probably has been reset into RCS mode (used with Terminal mode on the RX1250). When using SmartWorx on the RX1250, the instrument needs to set for GeoCOM mode. Go to Configure | Interfaces and setup as shown.

Different TPS setups shown on the same point
When ever you set up your instrument, you should be careful not to leave
the Station Coord: field at [Retain Current], unless you really want
that to happen, i.e you've just switched applications, but your setup
has not changed. If you blow passed the setup without paying attention
to this field, and only look at the Method: field, all your setups
could be shown at the same point. This is not easy to fix so you don't
want to do it. If you have done it once, you probably won't do it a
second time.

I want to clear the entry field on the instrument when I activate it.
With the cursor in the entry field, press the CE key. This will activate the entry
field and clear it.
Pressing the yellow left-arrow key will activate the entry field and place the cursor to the left
side. Pressing the yellow right-arrow key, or the Enter key, will activate the entry field and place the cursor on the
right side.

Where are my map points?
I can't see my points in the SmartWorx Map view, and I have a valid coordinate
system attached.
While viewing the Map screen, press Shift-F2[CONF] and set Show Points to Yes.
